@mia, the point is not that it is “rude”, the point is that it is “risky”. this is at the 18th ave D station where they closed down one of the 2 sets of staircases and its risky having all those people walking and squeezing in a narrow space next to the edge of the platform to get to the one available staircase, which in turn causes a huge clutter of people trying to all push down the stairs at once. which, if one person slips, can be dangerous cause it can escalate into a messy pile of people knocking each other over, or someone falling over the edge and onto the tracks. common? no. but totally possible. and therefore: risky. like the title says.
